Many modern industrial equipment such as precision instruments and parts of weak current equipment require small, thin-walled aluminum profiles with very precise cross-section dimensions, and their dimensional tolerances are very strict. The profile has a minimum wall thickness of only 0.4 mm and a tolerance of ±0.04 mm. The extrusion production process requires strict equipment, tools and processes. This extrusion technique is often referred to as precision extrusion [1-3].
1 Examples of precision aluminum extrusion profiles
Some small precision aluminum profiles have tolerances that are less than half the tolerances of the special grades in the JIS standard. Generally, precision aluminum profiles require dimensional tolerances between ±0.04 and ±0.07 mm. A section of some small precision extruded aluminum profiles is shown in Figure 1.
A1050, A1100, A3003, A6061, A6063 (low and medium strength alloy) small precision extruded profiles have a minimum wall thickness of 0.5 mm and a minimum sectional area of ​​20 mm2. A5083, A2024, A7075, (medium and high-strength aluminum alloy) small precision extruded profiles have a minimum wall thickness of 0.9mm and a minimum sectional area of ​​110mm2.

2 precision extrusion technology requirements
Generally speaking, the degree of hot extrusion deformation of aluminum alloy, the change of extrusion temperature and speed, the alignment of the extrusion equipment, the deformation of the tooling, etc. all easily affect the accuracy of the profile size, and their mutual influence factors are difficult. get over. 2.1 Requirements for tooling
The mold is the most direct factor affecting the dimensional accuracy of the extruded product. To ensure that the cross-sectional dimension of the extruded product is constant or small during production, the rigidity, heat resistance and wear resistance of the mold must meet certain requirements.
