German designer research and development of milk material clothes texture delicate and sensitive

Milk is not only good for health, but also can prevent skin sensitivity and support environmental protection. According to Hong Kong’s “Wen Wei Po” reported on the 17th, a young German designer Domaski developed a completely environmentally friendly textile material made of milk, such as silk and cotton yarn. Milk-based garments are scheduled to be produced on a large scale next year. Several companies have expressed interest in ordering and hope that new products will bring new changes to the apparel industry and open up new markets.

The 28-year-old designer Domaschi won the prize in the German Textile Research Association with a milk-based garment design. The president of the association, Janssen, said that garments currently rely heavily on natural resources such as petroleum by-products or water, and consume thousands of gallons to make a small amount of cotton cloth. “All petroleum-based things are limited, and like cotton cloth requires a lot of land, water and Chemicals are even more limited, so future fiber and textile production patterns must change."

High cost of 170 yuan per kilogram

Domaschi said that the concept of milk-based clothing came from his stepfather who had cancer. He suffers from severe skin sensitization when he is undergoing treatment, and even suffers from ordinary clothes. This inspired her to develop all-natural and non-allergic fiber materials. She said that milk-based fibers had emerged as early as the 1930s, but most used an excess of acrylic acid, and she hoped to make completely organic fibers.

After two years of continuous experimentation, Domaskey's laboratory team reduced the milk to protein powder, which was then boiled and compressed into a fiber that can be woven into fibers. She admits that the cost of this fiber is higher than that of organic cotton yarn, and 20 euros (about 170 yuan) can only produce 1 kilogram. It is only hoped that the manufacturer can reduce the transportation cost and the overall price.

Automobile manufacturers are also interested

Domarsky currently only applies the product to its own brand production online. Some automakers see that there is a potential for the use of seats for Laughter products. There are also service companies interested in ordering sensitive materials to make beds for hotels and hospitals. Janssen said that the German textile industry needs to develop creative products in order to survive the fierce competition. Domasksky's research is expected to expand into different industries and create a wide range of new products.
