Various materials used to prepare glass batch materials, collectively referred to as glass raw materials. According to their different amounts and effects, they are divided into main raw materials and auxiliary raw materials.

The main raw material refers to the introduction of various constituent oxide materials into the glass, such as quartz sand, limestone, feldspar, soda ash, and compounds. According to the nature of the introduced oxide, it is further divided into an acidic oxide raw material; an alkaline oxidizing raw material; an alkaline earth metal and a divalent metal oxide raw material; and a polyvalent oxide raw material. According to the role of the introduced oxide in the glass structure, it is further divided into a glass forming oxide raw material; an intermediate oxide raw material; and a network external oxide raw material.

Auxiliary materials are the raw materials that give the glass some of the necessary properties and accelerate the melting process. They are used in small amounts, but they have a large effect. They are classified into clarifying agents, decolorizing agents, coloring agents, opacifying agents, oxidizing agents, reducing agents, fluxing agents, etc. depending on the action.

main ingreadient:

Introduction of acidic oxide raw materials: silica: SiO2, molecular weight: 60.06, D: 2.4-2.65

The glass of the silica-deficient ruthenium forms an oxide, and an irregular continuous network is formed by the [SiO4] structural component to become a skeleton of the glass.

Simple SiO2 can be melted to form quartz glass at a high temperature of 1800 ° C or higher. In Na-Ca-Si glass, SiO2 can reduce the expansion coefficient of BL and improve the thermal stability, chemical stability, softening temperature, hardness, mechanical strength, viscosity and UV transmittance of BL. However, excessive use requires excessive melting temperatures and may result in crystallization.

The raw materials of SiO2 are quartz sand, silica sand and quartzite. It is used in glass in a large amount, accounting for 60%-70% of the batch.

Quartz sand: Quartz sand, also known as silica sand, its main component is SiO2, content: 98.5% -99.5% or more, containing: Ai2O3, TiO, CaO, MgO, Fe2O3, R2O and other impurities.

General intrinsic quality requirements:

Glass variety: Fe2O3, Cr2O3, TiO

Crystal material, utensil material, high white material,: ≤0.01, ≤0.001, ≤0.05

Thermos, medicinal bottles, glass-ceramics: ≤0.10, ≤0.025, ≤0.1

Milky white, plain white, brown glass: ≤ ≤ 0.15, ≤ 0.03

Ink white, flat material, chemical equipment: ≤ 0.25

Green material, dead yellow leaves, colored glass: ≤0.35

The particle size and grain composition of quartz sand are heavy quality indicators, and the size of the particle determines the quality of the melt. It is too difficult to melt, and it produces stones and streaks in the production process. The fine quartz sand melts fast, but the fine sand is easy to fly and agglomerate, making the mixing of the batch uneven. During the feeding process, the excessively thin part and the easily burnt gas are brought into the regenerator to block the package brick, which reduces the service life of the kiln and even is forced to stop production, causing huge losses and changing the glass composition. Therefore, the granularity composition of quartz sand should be strictly controlled.
