1, viscosity

Viscosity is the resistance to fluid flow and is expressed in terms of the ratio of shear stress to shear rate. The unit is centipoise. If the viscosity of the ink is high, it is difficult to transfer to the steel drum through the screen plate, making printing difficult. If the viscosity of the ink is low, the imprint will expand and affect the printing quality.

2, fluidity

The fluidity characterizes the flow properties of a fluid. The fluid's fluidity is the reciprocal of the viscosity. The fluidity of the ink can be regarded as the degree that the ink will flow naturally on the flat surface within a certain period of time without external force. The fluidity is high. The imprinting is easy to expand; the fluidity is small, and the imprinting lines are easily broken.

3, fineness

The fineness indicates the size of the pigments and other solid materials in the ink, and also indicates the uniformity of the distribution of these particles in the binder. It can be measured using a scraper fineness meter, the fineness of the screen printing ink, generally 15-45 microns. If the fineness is too large, a paste version will be produced, and the pattern will be broken. If the mesh number is low, the fineness can be increased accordingly; otherwise, the fineness becomes smaller.

4, drawing property

The molecular weight of the binder in the ink is large and the viscosity is strong. When the screen plate is lifted off the steel drum, the phenomenon that many ink filaments appear on the back of the screen is drawing, which not only makes the steel drum and the screen plate dirty, but also makes printing impossible. Normally, it is required that the screen printing ink has the property that wire drawing does not occur during long time and high temperature operation.

5, drying

The drum printing ink is required to dry as fast as possible. Because the steel drum is a hollow product, the floor space is large, and there are few stocks during production. Generally, the drum is shipped and the production is completed. After the production is completed, the manufacturer is directly transported, such as ink cannot Fast drying, it will occupy a large storage plant site. However, the drying of the ink can not be too fast, otherwise the lake version will be easy when the operating temperature is high.

Second, the use of ink

1, color

Color matching must meet the principle of three primary colors. No matter what color ink is used, the supply department should purchase natural inks as much as possible to reduce the number of ink color matching. There is no professional color matching personnel in the steel drum production factory, so each color matching will have a certain degree of color difference.

2, deployment

To meet the printing requirements, the deployment of a good ink should meet the following requirements:

(1) Good liquidity. Does not produce ink, ink is good, do not block the screen version.

(2) Suitable for drying. No drawing, bad ink.

(3) Adapt to the season. Especially in the north, the temperature difference between winter and summer is relatively large. In the winter, the air is dry, and in the summer there is dew.

(4) According to the number of screen, the size of the pattern and other specific circumstances to deploy ink, in order to achieve the desired printing effect.

(5) Time. Screen printing inks can control the drying speed by adjusting the type and quantity of the solvent.

3, common faults

(1) Insufficient ink: The viscosity is large and the flowability is poor. You can use slow-drying thinner or increase the amount of diluent.

(2) Drawing: High viscosity, fast dilution and drying, deployment of appropriate thinner, lower ink viscosity, do not print in strong sunlight.

(3) Ink ink: Too much solvent in the ink increases the viscosity of the ink.

(4) Inhomogeneous ink unevenness: The ink is thick and uneven or the old and new inks are mixed or have impurities. The ink should be evenly mixed to remove impurities.

(5) Leaking ink: The screen plate has damage, repair or replace the screen plate.

(6) Different types of inks must not be mixed, such as water-based inks and oil-based inks.
