2015 building automation market will reach 36 billion US dollars

For decades, energy consumption in commercial buildings has been increasing year by year. Today, in some developed countries, this part of energy consumption has reached as high as 20% of the energy consumption of the entire country. This makes the improvement of energy efficiency and the implementation of environmental protection measures a top priority. This situation has brought vitality and benefits to the BAS market. Despite the financial turmoil and the slowing growth of the market, the global BAS market will grow by 3% from 2009 to 2010, and the overall market will reach US$36 billion.

Jonathan Collins, principal analyst at ABI Research, said: "The government's fiscal incentives and regulatory measures are in line with each organization's own financial and environmental goals. They all want to conduct more extensive network management and integration of building automation systems. This trend has enabled IBM and Cisco to squeeze into markets that are traditionally dominated by more specialized companies. At the same time, the amount of contracts will increasingly shift from hardware to software and services—this is precisely a demand increase. New trends in communication and integration with the BAS system."
